All Dawn of Ragnarok Mysteries - Assassin's Creed Valhalla Guide - IGN (2025)

Mysteries in Svartalfheim can fall under the following styles: World Events, Dwarves in Distress, Mythical Memories, and Dwarven Altars. Dawn of Ragnarok World Events

World Events are short side quests. Interact with the character you find at the event marker to begin the quest. You will earn 1200 XP for each World Event you complete.

Dwarves in Distress

There are ten Dwarf in Distress mysteries spread across Svartalfheim. Each location will have a Dwarf being threatened by enemies. Eliminate the enemies to save the Dwarf, then speak to the Dwarf to complete the mystery. Each Dwarf in Distress will reward you with 450 XP and a clue to the location of one of Suttungr's Outriders. Find each Dwarf afterward at one of the Dwarven Shelters to receive additional rewards.

Gullnamar Dwarves in Distress

• Colborn: Surrounded by Muspel warriors and inside a cage. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Vesalligr. Can be found later at Grenhellir Shelter.
• Ylva: Surrounded by wolves who turn out to be Jotun warriors. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Vesalligr. Can be found later at Grenhellir Shelter.

Svaladal Dwarves in Distress

• Tait: Surrounded by Muspels. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Ljethr. Can be found later at Jordeygr Shelter.
• Solvej: Surrounded by Muspel warriors. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Ljethr. Can be found later at Jordeygr Shelter.
• Kelby: Surrounded by Jotun warriors. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Iaten. Can be found later at Jordeygr Shelter.
• Torborg: Surrounded by Jotuns. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Iaten. Can be found later at Jordeygr Shelter.

Vangrinn Dwarves in Distress

• Felman: Surrounded by Jotun warriors. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Banir. Can be found later at Grenhellir Shelter.
• Carr: Surrounded by Jotuns and inside a cage. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Banir. Can be found later at Hodda Shelter.
• Destin: Surround by Jotun and Muspel warriors. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Gygr. Can be found later at Hodda Shelter.
• Ingrid: Surrounded by Jotuns, Muspels, and snakes. Provides a clue to the location of Suttungr's Outrider Gygr. Can be found later at Hodda Shelter.

Mythical Memories

The Dawn of Ragnarok DLC introduced a new mystery known as Mythical Memories. Mythical Memories are ancient Dwarven blacksmith locations found in Svartalfheim. When you reach the sight, you simply need to interact with the large anvil to trigger a cutscene about Dwarven craftsmen and the items they produced. Havi will tell a short story about what was crafted at that spot, and you’ll earn 1 Skill Point. You can see the locations of all Mythical Memories by using our Interactive Map.

Reward for Finding All Mythical Memories

After finding all six Mythical Memories in Svartalfheim, you’ll receive the Mechanical Raven cosmetic for Synin.

Gullnamar Mythical Memories

• Har Smida - Har Smida is located underneath the Jewelry District of Uldar. This is where the golden threads for Sif's Hair were crafted.

Svaladal Mythical Memories

• Gungnir Smida - Gungnir Smida is southeast of the Jordeygr Shelter. This is where Odin’s Spear, Gungnir, was created! You can actually get this spear in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla; check out our guide here!
• Skidbladnir Smida - Skidbladnir Smida is located in the center of a lake that’s perpetually engulfed in a thunderstorm. Havi tells the tale of Skidbladnir, the ship that could fold down to pocket-size.
• Mjolnir Smida - Mjolnir Smida is located in the mountains at the northern edge of the region. This is where Thor's Hammer, Mjolnir, was created! You can actually get this hammer in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla; check out our guide here!

Vangrinn Mythical Memories

• Gullinbursti Smida - Gullinbursti Smida is located about 600m S of Eitri, below the ruins surrounded by massive statues. This is where the mythical boar, Gullinbursti was crafted. You can actually get Gullinbursti as a mount in the game by completing A Beast’s Burden!
• Draupnir Smida - Draupnir Smida is located on the western border of Vangrinn. This is where the mythical ring, Draupnir was crafted.

Dawn of Ragnarok Dwarven Altars

Dwarven Alters function just like the Offering Alters in the base game. Discover each alter and interact with it to offer specified resources or items. If you do not have the required offering, it can usually be obtained nearby. When the offering is made, the Dwarven Alter is completed and one Skill Point is earned.

• Auga Altar (Gullnamar): Requires 5 Pollocks (Regular)
• Gullhlid Altar (Gullnamar): Requires 5 Hare’s Feet
• Hofgard Altar (Vangrinn): Requires 6 Silica
• Forsar Altar (Vangrinn): Requires 2 Lynx Paws
• Gulr-vik Altar (Vangrinn): Requires 5 Wolf Claws
